Medieval-style restaurant, delicious cuisine with typical local dishes. If you are in those parts, stop! Highly recommended
During our 5 day stay in Fussen we had dinner here one evening. The food, drinks, service and price were great. A fun atmosphere, they have English menus.
Medieval themed restaurant in the Füssen pedestrian zone We spontaneously decided on the Gasthof Krone while visiting Füssen, because we wanted to eat good middle-class German cuisine. The fact that the restaurant thematically cites the Middle Ages with weapons, armor and a large mural was a funny and surprising effect. We ordered venison goulash, sauerbraten and sausages with fries. The food came quickly, the service was professional - but we were the only customers, too busy and reserved. The portion size was manageable, the temperature of the food varied from cold (loos) to lukewarm (meat) to extremely hot (red cabbage) - I think it was microwaved over it - but everyone liked it. Not the highest culinary art, but not bad either. There are drinks in stone mugs, also unusual and appropriate. Payment is only in cash - that was a bit of a surprise, especially in Corona times. Good restaurant - not necessarily but not a mistake to eat there.
So delicious!
Very tasty, rustic, knightly and reasonably priced. The dishes are especially eye-catching. We felt very comfortable and were fed up. :-)
The food was ok. The drinks are from clay cups or the beer from stone mugs. It's very quaint. But we wouldn't go there again
Quaint restaurant. Very attentive waiters. The food and drinks came very quickly and the dishes were tasty.
We sat outside very nicely at the end of September and enjoyed a very nice service. We would be served quickly and the drinks came quickly - and with very friendly service. The Leberkäs and the French fries were a little too salty for our taste, but the knuckle was all the more crispy - and special requests were also met. Tip to the restaurant: for us a little less "cooks in love" ;-)
Good and at a good price, the place has a medieval theme that goes well with the country that hosts it. The food was good and the beer great, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.
When looking for a table, staff was not very friendly and very "businesslike". We preferred to eat at the market hall opposite and enjoyed the view of the facade of the Gasthof Krone.
The staff was very friendly but the food was good. The food was not bad but it is much better.
Here you can eat very well in a great atmosphere with a medieval feel. The Middle Ages theme is implemented very well and the food is also very tasty. Gladly again
Nice atmosphere , generous portions , friendly staff Enjoyed the experience .
Food came very quickly but that was the good thing. Ambience was much, stuffy and loud. No feeling of wellbeing to linger. Pork knuckle was ok but nothing more. Real disappointment for Bavaria. Broccoli was cold, just boiled in water, unseasoned and dry, as there was no sauce. Not recommended. It's better to do that alone at home.
We loved it here. The knuckle and steak were great. The half chicken was good too. The service was very friendly. Can't say anything bad We'd love to come back
Nice place, large portions, friendly staff, good taste... And amazing decoration! It is a perfect place for take a break and eat a good meal :)
Delicious food with a good price / performance ratio. The Käsespätzle and the Kaiserschmarrn were very tasty sehr
Very friendly staff. You just wait a short time for the delicious food. The portions were okay, but could have been a bit bigger. Price performance ratio was right. The restaurant was furnished in an old-fashioned way, it worked well.
Picturesque decoration typical of the Middle Ages Hearty and very good quality dishes
We enjoyed it. Ordered a plate to share which turned out to be an enormous amount of food for two people. We could easily have feed all our three kids from the same plate. But the food we were served was good and for us typically German. Staff was ok and not much more. Would go here again.
I found the staff to be very friendly, even where people come from doesn't really matter. The food, however, was really not good. Next to us at the table, people also let it go back, I should have done that too.
We really enjoyed the food, was tasty and fresh. More of traditional German style. We took chicken breast with potato and pork schnitzel with fries. Both dishes had a salad. The stuff was very friendly and nice. We are very grateful for this great dinner!
Disappoint. Very bad Housewine. Service not good. Price No value.
I spent several ski holidays based at the Krone back in the early 60s. Heine Gronaur was nominaly in charge but aging, Mutte kept a stern eye on things. Great fun, super area, wonderful people. We were made so welcome that it was almost overwhelming. Best times of my life almost.
Food was terrible. Service and atmosphere ok.
Over the price one could frown, but all else is good at the crown....
Excelent service, super fast. Food and desert delicious. I highly recommend the strudel and the pork schnitzel.
Food is fine but limited. We you ask for Coke, it gets poured from a big bottle. No credit cards accepted.
Nice local atmosphere, delicious food with fair price. It is also good for families with baby. Higly recommended.
Delicious traditional German food
Staff was rude food was ok.
I missed pork rib and potato soup here. The meat is so tender and the soup is so rich but never feel enough to drink. The portion of soup enough just right 2 person. Skin of pork knuckle is not so crispy, but meat is tender enough. ?
Nice place with great ambiance. For was wonderful. Fantastic service!
Pretty good! Nice service and tasty food. Appeared to be the only restaurant open in the area but was not disappointed.
Overall food was better then average. Loved the medieval theme. Staff was overall friendly and efficient. We did go at noon with the restaurant at about 60% capacity. Be aware that like many restaurants in the area that this is a cash-only shop. The restaurant was reasonably priced. Lunch for two with drinks was approximately 40 euros
Food is good if you wanna try authentic German cuisine. Staff is not that friendly.
Keep looking, food was bad! We went as a group of 40, had ribs, roasted potatoes and corn on the cob. Ribs were way over cooked, dry, hard and very fat ridden. Potatoes were good, corn was not. Disappointing meal, don't expect a good meal. And the house wine, red and white, tastes like vinegar!!
We walked the market for about an hour trying to find a place to eat before we picked here. For 7 folks to eat, drink and be merry 150 euro. For food was perfectly crafted. Made you feel like you were enjoying the classic from olden Germany. The best Thick Potato soup in a bread bowl EVER!!!! I will make this part of every trip into Germany.
Sausages & sauerkraut were pretty good. Staff was very rude and even cursed me when i politely asked the girl to please return when she had a moment (20+ min later and second time asking). 10 min to be acknowledged at table, 20 min before they took our order, 10 more min to get our beer, 30+ min for food, 3 requests for our check which were outright ignored. They made us miss our train back to munich which meant much delay and alternate route. Totally not worth the hassle. If you are unhappy to serve Americans, dont take our money!
Mushroom soup was excellent
This place was open fairly late on a Monday night. We sat in the back biergarten and it was about half full. We ordered some beers and they were brought out in ceramic steins. The menu had a page of proclamations and one of them was about having to eat with your hand and a knife and needing to wear a bib. This is very reminiscent of a weird US kids’ chain dinner and show called Medieval Times! The food was pretty good. Especially the fried potato wedges. But no question: this place is cheesy / kitschy and aimed at tourists.
Overall the food was pretty disappointing to say the least. Everything we ordered were a bit overpriced for the quality that we were getting, except for the 3 sausages with sauerkraut dish. On a good note, the beer and Mead were pretty good. Lastly, the most ridiculous thing is that they charge us 50 cents for extra plates which was unbelievable! The ambience, decor and music gave a good vibe.
Atmosphere was good, beer was great, especially Mead. Food however is totally opposite. The lamb tastes totally frozen, pork knuckle badly cooked, and they even charge 50 cents for extra plates. Its just not worth the price. Just go for beer and forget the food.
Atmosphere was good but the food is just not up to expectations and can be descrips as gross. The lamb leg are not fresh but tasted like frozen and overcook, the pork schnitzel was soggy. Try to charge us 50 cents for an extra plate. Good drinks but bad food
Nice environment but bad service along with low quality frozen food, lamb leg was cooked really badly and so was the pork schnitzel, could tell that it was a soggy schnitzel right away. By the way, they charge 50p for every extra plate you ask for. Mead was good but not worth going unless you’re just going for a drink at night. Nice cozy place
All is well. Nice and professional service. Delicious food. Room tastefully decorated. I would recommend.
The best pork knee I ever ate...
The plate is very beautiful. The duck meat is delicious. Tomahawk pork chops are delicious. Filet mignon is delicious. But the fish is astringent but the price is too high 35euro. Friendly service. The overall price is high.
We wanted to order a beer and charge our phones while we are sitting there. Waiter said that we have to pay for electricity. ?
Staff was quite unfriendly
